ERP(SAP)
ERP :
erp means enterprise resourse planning. In enterprise there are different different departments like
ex. if company invest some amount of money in production then amount of money should be deducted from finance.
The difference between normal software and erp is that in erp the different modules work independently but there is same central database for all modules.
so there are many erp products available in market given by different companies like
sap(sap ag is the company name as well as product name) is the bigest player in the market recently ,then comes orracle business applications(because oracle takeover peoplesoft and peoplesoft takeover j.d edwards,so now both are with oracle) and then comes microsoft dynamics etc....
so it is difficult to take a desicion of which erp to use ,but it is based on the requirement of organization
ex. peoplesoft has very strong H.R management system,so if the organization is based on only human resourses(education institute) than it prefere peoplesoft.
ex. sap is very strong as whole erp system instead of independent modules means it provides all facilites to midium scale and large scale organization,so in this kind of situations sap is prefered.
there may be integration between modules of different companies like sap and peoplesoft if there is need(it comes under enterprise system integration).
INTRODUCION TO SAP:
